The UK Innovation Forum (www.uk-if.org) uses its online forums, brokering meetings, databases of licensable technologies and start-up executives, plus other services, to allow business people who turn technological innovations into commercial success, to collaborate with each other and with British universities and other research institutions and laboratories that produce world-class innovative technologies.

This is something I do for fun! It is a non-profit monthly meetup that aims to inspire and motivate tech entrepreneurs. Interesting, inspiring and knowledgeable people such as seasoned entrepreneurs, adventurers, industry experts and key influencers are invited to conduct hands-on workshops or speak about a relevant subject. The main event is always followed by a networking drinks reception at the venue or a more casual gathering at a local bar or pub.

Vibio Inc was the US subsidiary of Vibio (UK) Ltd. The company operated a social marketplace called Vibio.com.

Worked with the inventor to develop an anti-piracy solution from concept to completion. This included creation of business plan, securing the necessary seed capital, academic testing, approaching video game developers, music labels and movie studios prior to deployment. The company remains in stealth mode.

Mobile consultancy that developed one of the first interactive quiz applications for java-based mobile handsets. The company also developed mobile marketing strategies for several leading online brands including udate.com/match.com.

Negotiated the commercial rights to the FIA’s leading historic F1 Championship and produced a documentary for the British TV station 'channel5' on the history of Formula One. Developed and implemented the company’s strategy, approached rights owners and event organisers and secured over £500K of investment.

Co-founded icollector plc, the Internet auction service that listed on Ofex in 1996 with a £1m valuation. At the time of Simon’s departure icollector plc was valued at almost £100million and poised for a full listing on the London Stock Exchange. Due to adverse market conditions the listing was abandoned and icollector was purchased by Able Auctions Inc which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

One year after establishing icollector, Simon set-up a web consultancy division providing services to the Ministry of Defence (British Army), KPMG, British Telecom, Shell and many other blue chip clients. CMi was acquired by New Media Industries Group plc in 2000.

Developed below the line campaigns for companies that included Christian Dior, Crombie and the Kimberley-Clarke Corporation.

Worked part-time for Phillips as an auction assistant within the Decorative Arts Department.
