This lean work flow allows the detailer to avoid clashes rather than model in a silo and wait for clash detection. •Developed and implemented a more efficient workflow for online collaborative submittal review using Bluebeam Studio, resulting in higher quality reviews in 33% less time while remaining completely electronic. •Implemented integration between Trimble Total Stations and Tekla Structures to quickly and accurately collect point location information to as-built the model, and also provide layout from the model to the field. This increase in speed and accuracy to capture field information was critical to the project's ability to save 31 schedule days during foundation construction. •Pushed the use of 4D models at DPR from mainly a proposal tool to a detailed schedule analysis tool using Synchro. The concept of trade specific color-coded 4D analysis is now being implemented at LPCH • Submitted for and awarded the 2011 Tekla North America award for BIM collaboration.
